Emerson Fittipaldi

A rather minimalistic portrait of two times Formula 1 World Champion. I tried to include his characteristic teethy smile, but that didn't go in harmony with the nose or his good lookin' sideburns. Still not quite finished, though.

Please let me know what you think, in case I've got it all wrong and you did not recognise him at all.

Ian Rush

Legendary striker for Liverpool Football Club, also playing for Juventus, Leeds United and Newcastle United. The face may not be the ideal representation of Rush's personality, but he was nonetheless a fearsome striker.

The truth has arrived. A huge shame to the cycling sport, Armstrong himself and to the cancer charity, though he did make lots of money for it.

Alain Prost

My take on the four time Formula 1 World Champion.
For further associations, I've added the shape of the Marlboro logo which sponsored his and Senna's McLaren cars during their legendary feud of the late 1980's.

I'm not quite satisfied, maybe because I've looked myself blind on this drawing in particular, but I'll just leave things there for the moment. One of my sketches actually looked better.

I would love to let me know if there's something to improve.

Dr. House

I had a massively productive day yesterday, and since I've started watching House MD again, I ended up with four pages of sketches of Hugh Laurie. This is the one I feel is the most complete/finished, but I still need the viewers to confirm if the likeness is there or not. I've gotten kind of blind of his face because of all the sketching, you see. So I would appreciate if you could comment.

Bicycle Thieves

Just a rather well worked sketch of a screenshot from the Italian movie Bicycle Thieves (1948).
Not quite satisfied with the likeness - Bruno's (Enzo Staiola's) face should be wider rather than taller, and I ruined Antonio's (Lamberto Maggiorani's) eyes during the drawing process. May have another go another time.

The Good and the Ugly

Finally! What started well by colouring the background and such, ended up like a nightmare when colouring the actual people. I've spent probably more than ten hours on this drawing and I'm still not satisfied - I can point out many things I still want to correct, but during the closing hours I started hating this drawing and wanted to get it overwith. This chapter is hereby closed.

For those who don't know, this is a caricature based on a screenshot from the legendary spaghetti western movie "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" - here we see Tuco (Eli Wallach) and Blondie (Clint Eastwood).

If you plan to draw after a screenshot from this movie, I highly recommend putting on the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone while doing it. It really gets you in the spirit!

Gary 'Mani' Mounfield (spell has been broken)

Finally! After sketching this while being bored at work, I decided to give photoshop a go. I've always been a total newbie when it comes to photoshop, but after a bit of an epiphany and much struggle in setup and such, I managed to pull out my best result in photoshop ever. It did of course take a certain amount of hours, especially since I couldn't get my perfectionist self to behave and let things be, but I am certainly glad and relieved over the result.

Oh, and Gary Mounfield is the bassist of my favourite band, The Stone Roses - who by the way will visit Norway on their comeback tour in just three days. I can't wait!

Home from work

Only last week did it start to rain three out of six times I was JUST about to go home from work. The norwegian summer is just a load of bollocks. Don't ever come here without packing an umbrella, a rain coat and a small, inflatable boat.

The attack on Norway

It's been a year already. Every Norwegian most probably will remember exactly where they were when they heard the news on that horrible day of 22 July 2011. I was at work, hearing from a customer that a bomb had gone off in Oslo - and you probably know the rest of the horrible truth.

May the 77 lost lives rest in peace.

'The Laidbacks'

Back in 2008, me and three of my friends occasionally played instruments together, originally calling ourselves Daddy Long Legs, but between the four of us "The Laidbacks" because of the comfy chairs and sofas we sat in while we rehearsed.
(Of course, our drummer didn't actually sit in a comfy chair, but we joked about the idea still)

Modern SOAPfare

I've had this idea ever since Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was released, which is now almost three years ago, but I finally finished it now. The fact that one of the character's nick name is 'Soap' made me giggle from the very start.

Carrying speed into the corner

Being a Formula 1 fanatic since 1999, I've obviously seen hundreds of races. In the later years I've seen the races with english commentary, and the expression "carrying speed into the corner" is just too funny not to joke with. Here I've drawn Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso doing a whole different meaning of carrying speed into the corner.

As I watched an episode today, my urge to draw their faces became bigger than ever - even though I've drawn those faces quite a few times in the past.

Background: 2 of my last 3 birthdays were celebrated working on the post office, hence the excitement by not celebrating there this year - but still, I am going to school and I'm sitting in the middle of a class, with classmate Amanda in the second and Didrik in the third panel.

After searching google and deviantart.com for caricatures of Craig Bellamy, I found only a few - and those few did, in my opinion, not look at him at all. And after his important role in the Liverpool squad and for the fact that I like that bad ass bastard, I felt it was about time someone gave him a good caricature portrait. Not that he sees this, though. Or that I'm bragging about how good this is.

The Dean and Keira Knightley

You'd never think of those two names in the same sentence, would you?
Dean "The Dean" Pelton (played by Jim Rash) from the TV show called Community. Brilliant show. Jim Rash plays excellent and always puts a smile on my face when he appears as The Dean in the show. Every time.

...Crush aside, this is one of my first sketches of her. A good approach, but not perfect.
I later went for the more graphic style, but as I don't have my tablet with me at the moment, I will put this project on hold until I get back to Kristiansand where my tablet is.

I haven't quite catched the likeness in this one yet, but apart from the choice of hair (or not), I think it's a matter of small adjustments before I'm satisfied. We'll see about that.
